East West Rail (EWR) have recently opened a consultation for the proposed development of a new railway between the areas of Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge, which closes on the 24th January 2025.
Stage 1 and 2 of the development have already begun, with planning consent granted for these back in 2020. The purpose of the consultation is to seek representations and feedback on Stage 3 of the development, being the last phase in order to enable passenger services between Oxford and Cambridge via Bletchley and Bedford. EWR have identified land that may be required for the scheme, which will be acquired through the Development Consent Order process. A copy of their proposed route maps can be found here:

Engaging in stakeholder consultations can potentially mitigate and reduce the impacts of the EWR scheme, and therefore should your property be affected by the proposed route, please do get in contact with a member of the Agricultural Team on 01832 732241, who would be very happy to assist, or email us at enquiries@bletsoes.co.uk.
